Vanuatu has had a long history with cricket which dates back to the 1900’s.

Cricket has been played in Vanuatu by the British since 1901 when Vanuatu was still called the ‘New Hebrides’ and colonized by Britain and France.

Vanuatu Cricket began as the ‘Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA)’ upon affiliation to the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1995 and the development program of the VCA started in 2001 with 400 participants and one development officer, Pierre Chilia, who is now the General manager of the VCA.
